Public sector evolving to tackle the challenges of the future

The future holds many challenges for the Swedish public sector.

Social trends point towards:

• Large numbers of people entering retirement and an aging population.
• A declining population in rural areas.
• Fewer resources for public services.
• Higher demand for public services.

To meet these challenges the state, councils, and county administrative boards must work towards a more efficient development of the public sector in many different areas.

Starting out from the processes used in the organisation, listening to citizens and making sure that the knowledge obtained stays within the organisation as well as strategic use of IT, will enable us to create a platform for success.
