The Swedish country report of 2008 for the International Council of IT in Government Administration gives a resume of the past year's events and current priorities in the area of e-government in Sweden.
An action plan for e-government was taken by the Government in January. Prioritized areas are:
- information management
- information security
- automated IT support for case management and procurement.
Since 1st of July all public agencies are dealing with electronic invoicing and the next step is to fully implement electronic procurement. Verva has looked into the matter of electronic ID and the demands for an effective and secure e-administration and has handed in recommendations to the Government.
